Being in pain is hard. Whether the pain is emotional or physical, it is a struggle to continue to be competent and present with your life when you have to deal with tragedy in your body. It is easy to feel angry and frustrated at your pain, to feel like you are out of control and the world is an unfriendly place. But if we stop looking at trauma as tragedy and start looking at it as teacher, the whole process can shift for us.

It is often through difficulty that we learn the lessons we need to be a whole human being. Even when the situation that needs healing may not be our fault, by looking at it fully and asking what we can learn from it we will start down the path of true healing, where not only our body or emotions heal, but our spirit as well.
